Audrey Girard-Miron is a Québec-born writer from Gatineau who has called the Petite-Nation region of Outaouais home for more than a decade. Rooted somewhere between fable, fairy tale, and literary fiction, her work is steeped in the wild beauty of Québec’s forests and shaped by a life marked by farming, artistic exploration, and deep community ties. Winner of the Napoléon-Bourassa Exhibition Centre’s writing prize in both 2018 for The Cabin of a Thousand and One Mice and 2021 for The Sleeping Mouse in the Wood, she returns with The Mouse Fables, a hauntingly original collection in which animals hold up a mirror to the fragility, absurdity, and tenderness of human nature.
